Our new "helpers" at Friday Night Out did a great job staying entertained while we all helped others :)! We are grateful for Karlina's stopping in just in time to feed Chloe her bottle and for the fun Cormier family who keep our kids and our F.N.O friends smiling!

Good Friday evening we spent with our Friday Night Out pals. Sylvia (in the pink shirt) brought graham crackers broken longways which we formed in the shape of a cross and decorated with icing & sprinkles. My mom had given us a set of Resurrection Eggs a few years ago which Jeff used for our Bible lesson. Each friend got to open one and show the group the item hidden inside which is a visual reminder of the story of Easter.
Dalton (in the striped shirt), sister to Taylon, came to join us, again, and was a great help. When we first began Friday Night Out years ago, she would regularly stay with us but then got busy with other activities and let Taylon have her "own" special night out. It was neat to be with her, again, and see the sweet young lady she is growing to be. We were all grateful Jeff thought to bring extra eggs with small wooden crosses in them because several didn't want to part with their story egg without the promise of another treasure to come :)! As you can see, we also enjoyed our music/worship time. Kara and Simon have a become great little dance partners. I don't have a picture of Mattea who was "featured" a few days ago on the blog. She was baptized today (Easter Sunday) at our church, and it was a very special time to see one of our campers/Friday Night Out friends stand up before so many to show that they believe Christ died and rose again to take away their sins. This is why we're here!

This is sweet Mattea. She is a young lady who attends our church with her family and comes to spend a week each summer at Camp Promise. I've enjoyed working with her for the last couple of years in our church's Awana program. Every week, we review her entire Spark's book (15 verses or so) and usually another Bible verse or two which she's been working on. I'm her "partner" for game time, and we try to give lots of high fives to encourage our teammates. We have two weeks left of Awana for the year and are looking forward to awards night!!

Taylon (third picture down) rides downhill on a "sit ski" (used for those in wheelchairs or who utilize assistance for walking). There were several other camp friends participating in snowshoe and cross country events, but they received their medals at another podium. They may have inspired this Southern belle to buy some used skis or at least snowshoes to go join them next year!

Woohoo for the many other friends we cheered on at the events! CAN'T WAIT TIL CAMP!!!

A few more shots of the Lighthouse team. They are a beautiful representation of the God they love! Friday night, we celebrate this ministry with a BIG fundraiser dinner and swing dance. Followed the next night, by camp's fundraiser dinner!! FUN week!!!

Michael, the fellow at the top of the page, is blind and won a gold medal in his alpine (downhill) event (side note: Emmy is VERY impressed with all these athletes, but especially Michael, since I'm a scaredy cat even with my sight!)

Today, the Special Olympics Winter Games were held in Whitefish. We did lots of cheering for MANY friends we knew from camp. These are pictures of Nathan who Jeff has been coaching this season. He won a bronze for his alpine event. Way to go, Nathan!

We had a great time tonight playing and praising God with our friends! Jeff is starting a few weeks of lessons on Moses. He pretended to be baby Moses tonight and "hide" on the other side of the gym. Simon keeps telling and retelling us that Daddy is a loud baby! Can you fill in the missing words on the verse that Garret and Jacob are holding?? All the friends enjoyed the challenged of erasing a few and trying to get all the way through it. Christine has a birthday in a few days and brought us cake! It was great to be together again - the energy is contagious!
