Jeff had a birthday on Friday with presents in the morning before school for the kids and his volunteering to plant trees at our local park. For after school snack, we enjoyed Mother Knarr's Jewish Apple Cake (one of her Camp Sankanac specialties). Then, we were off to Friday Night Out.

We tried to surprise him at singing time, but Seth had a little trouble keeping the balloons and kazoos a secret once he spied them in the kitchen :)! Let me tell you, it was a rowdy worship time this week :)! Kazoos, and even balloons, add such energy to the experience!
Can't remember if I shared how proud I am of Keith and Jacob and their learning to save. Gran bought the kids a kids' version of Dave Ramsey's guide to wise financial choices. Each "pay day" and times when they get special gifts, they put a portion in one of three envelopes : give, save, and spend. The save envelope has become a bank account which they are all very proud to have (Kara and Simon, too). Keith and Jacob both recently purchased the items you see here (Keith even sweetly let's Kara watch Strawberry Shortcake on youtube)! Everyone at the store and bank have been wowed by the boys' ability to reach their goals! Thanks, too, to all those special folks who sent birthday and Christmas "hide money" which got them a long way towards these goals!

Jacob's arrived this week in this BIG box. And although I'm sure several of you grandparents would enjoy this sweet "package" sent to you, we won't let her travel that far alone yet :)!
The finished project - worked on everyday after school since Wednesday and most of the Saturday :)!!
