Jeff had a birthday on Friday with presents in the morning before school for the kids and his volunteering to plant trees at our local park. For after school snack, we enjoyed Mother Knarr's Jewish Apple Cake (one of her Camp Sankanac specialties). Then, we were off to Friday Night Out.

We tried to surprise him at singing time, but Seth had a little trouble keeping the balloons and kazoos a secret once he spied them in the kitchen :)! Let me tell you, it was a rowdy worship time this week :)! Kazoos, and even balloons, add such energy to the experience!

so jealous of the apple cake! I've tried several recipes that just weren't the same. So do you have Mother's recipe? Can you send it along??? :)
