Fast forward to Halloween (and I'll catch up on our other shots from PA later :) . . . PopPop and Kathy treated the kids to any costume they wanted at the costume shop (and special buckets, too). Jacob and Keith decided on Star Wars and can't wait to get back to battle with their buddy Garrett! Kara and Simon have fallen in love with very special Disney characters since our visit to their world. Simon was Woody, and Kara was Belle. We had a fun night of pizza, mulled cider, cookies (made by Kara and Simon), and OF COURSE, candy! Jeff took Simon out while Shannon and I took the older kids around. We weren't sure how Simon would do with all the "s(c)ary" things. He and Jeff were out longer than we were, however, and Simon's bucket was overflowing (partly from the extra stops, but also b/c people gave him handfuls for being so cute)! Jeff helped him carry his stash around the neighborhood and started saying, "My candy!" One time he laughed afterward and from then on, Simon added an evil laugh - "My 'andy', ha, ha, ha!" Hilarious! Kara had the hang of the sweet, loud "Thank You" after candy dropped in her bucket. The big boys even braved a scary haunted yard with Aunt Shannon. It was a very pleasant night (glad to be in PA for that), and we enjoyed our walk around the big block. The local fire dept guys even made the rounds with lights and horn and loud speaker :)!
